The casting and acting, the storylines, the sets, and the superb production, all make for such high quality tv that it's impossible not to imagine an awards-fest for it. What can I say that everyone hasn't said already? This fantasy/drama is easily the best thing that's we've had on tv for years. Certainly one of the best shows of the moment but nowhere near as good as things like The Wire, Soprano's or Battlestar Galactica. The story itself is deep and interesting so it makes for a great show. Takes a while for the show to heat up but once it does the ball gets rolling and you'll enjoy the ride. The acting's great but it's not the second coming like some people would lead you to believe. Oh and while I'm at it give that man Peter Dinklage an Emmy! I imagine it was quite an effort to fit such a large book into 10 episodes! If there's one criticism I can give then it is in regards to the pacing, although I am aware this is due to the nature of the adaptation. TV needs stuff like this to push boundaries and raise the bar. HBO took a risk with this show to be sure, and I'm glad they did. Where do I start? Brilliant writing, acting, casting, sets, special effects, cinematography, score and overall production values. Sky Atlantic's fantasy series made medieval life look sexy and dramatic. Ignore GriffonMaster, the guy hasn't a clue. How on earth could anyone not find this show amazing.
